Coming into
tonight's CCL opener, the Hawks are standing at 4-0, a better start
than last year's team who finished their season playing for the
state title. This past Tuesday the Hawks took on Big Walnut in
Sunbury. The match went three sets with the Hawks coming out on
top. In set three there were eight lead changes. Leading Hartley

The JV team is standing

After a great start
this past Saturday against Bexley, the Hawks came out slow and lacked intensity Monday night against Licking Valley. The match went three sets with all 13 players on the Hartley bench getting on the floor. Leading the Hawks was Coach Miller with one time out called...

The Hawks opened this past Saturday
against the Bexley Lions in a rematch of the regional championship
last October. That regional title gave Hartley its first ever
final four berth.
On Saturday, Hartley's win was in convincing fashion, keeping the Lions in single digits two of the three sets (25-16, 25-9, 25-7). Giana D'Andrea led all attackers with 9 kills, followed by Loren Fallert with 7, and Lauren Hughes and Shelby Sagle each with 6. Senior captain Lindsay Gaughan had 33 assists over the three set match. Libero Abby Weisenberger contributed 19 digs. The Hawks return seven seniors from last year's state finalist team. The newcomers are juniors Allie Holehouse, Shelby Sagle, and sophomore Lauren Hughes. Hartley has continued to be a state power over the last few years, reaching a #1 ranking last season. Driving the Hawks this year are a third CCL title in four years, a fourth district championship in four years, and another run at the state title. |
