RULES |
| Location - Gatsby's has agreed to let us use their sand courts during the week before 6:00 pm (when their league starts)- if you have a location closer to you, and want to play there, call your opponents team captain, and if you both agree, then have at it. |
| Serving Rule: If the ball contacts the net while going over, the ball is in play- no overhead setting motion on serve receive |
| Match: A match will consist of three games regardless. First two games are played to 21, win by 2 - No Cap. 3rd game is to 15, win by 2 No Cap. |
| Scheduled match times: Players will schedule their own matches during the week - EXCEPT after 6:00 pm, or on Saturdays when Gatsby's has tournaments. |
| Playing boundaries: You many never go on to another court before after playing the ball. Stay in the sand area - SAFETY FIRST. |
| Playing action: ~ No open tips (you can use your knuckles, closed fist, or back of your hand. |
| ~ If you overhand set the ball over the net, you must be square to end location. Either directly straight in front of you or directly straight behind you. |
| ~ You may dig with your hands, and have double contact on "hard driven" balls which is the opinion of the participants. Any "free balls" taken with the hands must come out fairly clean, with little or no spin. |
| Rain outs: Playing in the rain is fun, just bring extra clothes. But if you would rather not risk a loss in the rain, you may schedule to play that team at a later date, after the regularly scheduled matches but before Gatsby's starts their leagues around 6 p.m., or at a different location (see Location above). The same goes if the team you play will be out of town. It is your responsibility to complete the match. |
| Results:
The winning team must text their scores to Coach Justin, in this
format: Pool@ m# with their scores first For Example: For Example: D'Andrea & Brown defeat Sagle & Winkle the 1st game, lost the 2nd and fought for a tough 3rd game and won. So Giana (team captain) would text me "Navy@m5 21-17, 19-21, 15-13" The winning team scores always come first (even if you lose a game). Please keep a copy of this schedule with you, so you can cross out which matches you have completed. (Coach Justin's cell: 614-519-9890). |
| Officiating: Self officiating. You know the rules, be honest. Both playing teams must help keep score to keep the matches moving along. |
